Your data. Your decision.
On your Mac
Veil processes camera frames and text recognition locally. Camera frames and screen captures are not uploaded to Conyro. Optional face enrollment creates a mathematical face profile stored in this Mac’s Keychain. You can remove it in Face Recognition settings. Webcam recognition is experimental and does not provide Apple Face ID security.
Accounts and licenses
Conyro LTD operates the account and activation service. It stores your email address, a password hash, session and license token hashes, license status, random device ID, device name, and account/activation timestamps on its VPS. This information is used to sign you in, assign a license to one device, support your account, and prevent unauthorized activation. Your Mac periodically contacts this service to refresh its signed license. No camera, screen capture, face profile, or OCR text is included.
Team accounts and invitations
For team purchases we store the seat count, assignments, invitation token hashes and expiry times. A team buyer can see assigned account email addresses, key suffixes and connected Mac names, and can reclaim a seat. The buyer cannot see teammates’ passwords, full activation keys after their initial display, camera frames, screen content or face profiles. An invitation link lets its holder claim one seat; share it privately. Links expire after seven days and are invalidated when used, replaced or reclaimed. Company-managed keys belong to the buyer’s account; anyone given that account’s credentials can manage its seats and purchases.
Purchases and payment information
When purchases are available, Dodo Payments handles checkout as merchant of record. We send your account email, selected product, and internal order and account references to create your checkout. Dodo collects payment and billing details directly; Veil does not store full card numbers or card security codes.
Our server stores your order reference, purchase email, product and price, payment and customer references, and payment, refund, and dispute status to deliver and manage the license. Dodo processes payment data under its privacy policy. Camera frames, face profiles, screen captures, and OCR text are never sent to the payment provider.
The launch notification list
You can separately consent to one email when Veil purchases open. No account or purchase is needed, and joining does not subscribe you to a newsletter. We store your email, consent record and time, and a limited campaign/source category on Conyro’s VPS. Email ownership is not verified and no confirmation email is currently sent. Launch-list records are retained for up to 180 days from joining. Withdrawing immediately excludes your request from launch email exports; the email and consent record remain until that retention period expires, unless you ask us to delete them sooner. We also record when a launch notification has been marked as sent so it is not sent again. Save the private removal link shown after joining; opening it does not remove you until you confirm. You can also contact hello@conyro.io to withdraw or correct your address. Deleted records may remain in local database backups for up to 14 days.
Optional website measurement
If you choose “Allow counts,” our own server receives aggregate counts of page views, account sign-up clicks, checkout clicks, and installer download clicks. These are event counts, not unique people or confirmed purchases. We store the day, a fixed page category, event type, and a limited campaign/source category. We do not store your IP address in these measurement records, send your full URL or referrer, create visitor identifiers, or track you across websites. No third-party analytics or advertising pixels are used. Aggregate measurement records are retained for up to 180 days.
Your choice is stored locally in your browser. Only after you opt in, a limited campaign/source category is kept in session storage to carry it to your account page. Browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals override permission and keep optional counts off. You can change your choice through “Privacy choices” in the footer; declining stops future optional measurement and removes the session campaign data. Previously collected aggregate counts cannot be linked back to you.
Cookies and technical data
Essential secure session cookies keep you signed in. The website stores an optional motion preference in your browser. The server and proxy may process IP addresses and technical request data to serve traffic and limit abuse; this is separate from optional aggregate measurement. API logs do not intentionally contain passwords, license keys, or session tokens.
Optional AI
If you explicitly choose an AI action, only the reviewed text you submit goes to Anthropic with your own API key. That key is stored in macOS Keychain. Anthropic’s service terms and data handling apply to those requests.
Screen authentication
Touch ID and your Mac login password are managed by macOS. They are separate from your Veil account. Veil’s privacy cover is an app overlay and does not replace macOS Lock Screen.
Retention and requests
Account and license data is retained while your account is in use. To request access, correction, or deletion, contact the Conyro team. Payment and transaction records may be retained after account deletion where needed for accounting, refunds, dispute handling, or legal obligations; deleting the account disconnects these records from the active account. Local database backups may retain deleted records until they expire under the backup retention schedule. Deleting an account revokes its licenses and sessions.
Contact Conyro support: hello@conyro.io. For payment issues, include your order reference. Never send your password or activation key.
